Molly, a Swedish Vallhund.
10 Aug 1995 - 10 Jan 2020.
Gone, but never forgotten. A best friend, a treasure.
Run free little mate.
The most photographed Vallhund, in the world? Probably.

March 2019 in a favorite spot to watch the gate through the windows.
Never shy about helping herself to the horse feed spillover.
A gaggle of Vallhunds meeting up at a Vallhund Rally.
On the Kaimai Loop (North-South) Track. Bay of Plenty.
Always up for a play with her rope.
When you want to play, nothing better than chasing the rope, bringing ii back and chasing it again..
Her nightly ritual is to claim my pillow every night and then move off when I arrive. Leaves a nice warm spot during winter.
Loves the beach, but the water, not so much.
Mollys rope is Mollys. Bad training but we always let her win.
Molly arrived at 9 months old after she was returned to the breeder by her first owner as untrainable. Trish had her attached to her by a lead for 3 months before we trusted her enough to give her freedom to roam, and return. A little treasure.
Mollys spot in the motorhome is un der the dashboard. Sleeps there at night under the bed and during the day can keep watch with the drivers door open.
In the camper, Sept 2019.
Never steps over the line off her property.
Mollys coat getting a bit thin during winter and likes being wrapped up at night.

Redgie, a 9 month old French Boxer, came to visit for Easter.. Molly, nearly 14 years old, looks a bit dazed.
Outside my office door. Redgie has temporarily become Mollys constant little companion.
Nearly 13 years old. Gets tired quickly and spends much time, sleeping, with one eye open, sort of.

Loves her water, filtered of course. And with ice in the summer. Drinks probably 4-6 bowls a day.

Hay making. Molly keeping track of the count. Omanawa, about 2 years old.
McLaren Falls 2014. A touch of country for a country dog now in suburbia.
11 years old
1 week before her 12th birthday.
All the neighbours know Molly
The white patch on her coat is where a St Bernard dog attacked and bit her.
Digging out a burrow looking for rabbits.
Nearly 12 years old.
Loves the beach.
Her job each night is to bring in the paper.
Not happy.
Valhunds are born with and without tails.
